Easy Homemade Cornbread Stuffing/Dressing

11/25/20

This is year I decided to make dressing because we never stuff a turkey in my house growing up. We always cooked it, deboned it, and add the meat to the dressing. I decided to see if I could make the dressing from my memory which isn't really all that great by the way lol. It came out really great! I was extremely surprised since I don't like stuffing at all.

I like mine a little sweet but if that's not your thing and you want more of a savory dressing then leave out the honey.

This makes one pan - 13x9
Serves 3-5 people

Step 1

Cornbread:

2 boxes of Jiffy Mix

2 tablespoons of Sugar

2 Eggs

2 sticks of butter, softened

2/3 cups buttermilk/milk

1/3 cup of real honey (optional) if you like it sweet

1 cup of sour cream

Cook Time
400 degrees F.
25 mins
*cornbread will be a little soft - perfect. Break it up in the pan.

Step 2:
Sautee w/ oil or butter in the pot for 5 mins: until celery is soft then add in 1 clove of garlic diced for 2 mins
2-4 Celery stalks chopped
half of an Onions chopped
1 clove of Garlic

Add to cornbread mix

Then add:

Complete season 3 tablespoons
Onion power season 3 tablespoons
Garlic power season 3 tablespoons
Salt 1 tablespoon
Pepper 1 tablespoon

2 eggs (optional)

Step 3:
Warm over stove:
1 cup of chicken broth with 1/4 of butter

Let it cool off before adding it to the pan

Step 4:
Make sure everything is mixed in the cornbread pan and put it back into the oven (uncovered) for 400 degrees F. for 25 mins

Happy Holidays to you and yours!
